On June 25th, Amherst and Williams will join forces to participate in the annual NYC Pride March. We will be joining hundreds of other schools, organizations and groups to celebrate the LGBT community.

We warmly invite Amherst and Williams alumni, students and parents to march with us under our school banners (children and allies are welcome!). Show your Purple Pride and sign up to march with us.

About the NYC Pride March
The first March was held in 1970 and has since become an annual civil rights demonstration. Over the years, its purpose has broadened to include recognition of the fight against AIDS and to remember those lost to illness, violence and neglect. In 2016, over 350 unique marching contingents, representing a vast array of nonprofits, community organizations, corporate partners, small businesses, political candidates and activists joined the march! With over 80 floats making the trek down Fifth Avenue, last year's March was one of the largest and most exciting in history.

  • 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. - Amherst and Williams alumni will meet at the Renwick Hotel at 118 E 40th Street to meet one another and to receive your purple swag for the march. If you have purple or "Amherst" clothing, please wear it!
  • 3:00 p.m. - Amherst and Williams alumni walk to their designated staging area for a 3:30 p.m. check in. The staging area is located at 40th street between Madison and 5th Avenues. We will follow up with all registrants to share more specific information and updates.
