How did you get started volunteering for Amherst?

I was asked by a classmate to help as associate agent of the Amherst Fund and then moved up to co-class agent.

Why do you volunteer with Amherst College?

I believe in the importance of the liberal arts and developing new generations of prepared citizens who can listen, think and articulate values that sustain our intellectual, social and spiritual perspectives. This does not happen without sustained interest and participation from alumni who are giving back for what they received as impressionable students long ago.

What is your favorite part of volunteering with Amherst?

l enjoy talking with fellow classmates and leaders of the current College community.

What would you say to someone considering a volunteer opportunity with Amherst?

Think about giving back. You can contribute so much besides money to continue the legacy and ensure future generations have the opportunity to do the same. Our Amherst family deserves our nurturing, our time and our attention. Everyone has something unique to contribute and we all await your sharing it.
