Ricardo Torres, a Cuban native and current professor at American University, discussed the evolution of the political and economic relationship between the United States and Cuba over the last 50 years.
Watch Philip Schultz P’18, Pulitzer Prize-winning poet, educator and founder of the Writers Studio, give a reading of new poetry and plenty of time for questions. Schultz won the 2008 Pulitzer Prize for Poetry for Failure (Harcourt 2007) and is the recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship, a Guggenheim Fellowship, and a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship in Poetry. His most recent book, The Wherewithal, a novel in verse, was released by W.W. Norton in February 2014. He is also the author of the influential memoir, My Dyslexia, published by W.W. Norton in 2011. Schultz will sign copies of his books in Converse Lobby following the talk.
