John Gravette (Jack) Lamb passed away in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL on March 15, 2010. He was a member of the Class of '37. He was a member, and president, of DKE fraternity and on the football team.

He had fond memories of Amherst, and had various Amherst memorabilia in his home. He was a Certified Public Accountant and was associated with Ernst and Ernst (now Ernst and Young) prior to becoming the chief financial officer of a multiproduce company in Cleveland, Ohio.

Jack was a graduate of the University School in Shaker Heights, Ohio and lived in Cleveland until his retirement to Florida in 1982. He was a past member of the Cleveland Skating Club and the Mayfield Country Club, and was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and the Ponte Vedra Inn and Club in Florida. He was an avid golfer and was credited with making 2 "holes in one" in his lifetime.

He is predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy Cole Lamb.  He was subsequently married to Mern Plyler Anthony Anderson and Anna Wilson Trammell, both of whom predeceased him. He was also predeceased by a brother, Jordan Lamb, of Houston, TX.

He is survived by a daughter, Nancy Hunter Fitzgerald of Wilmington, NC, two sons, John Gravette Lamb, Jr., of Dallas, TX, Richard Hamsher Lamb of Bloomfield Hills, MI, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
