Eleanor Andersen ’15

Eleanor Andersen graduated from Amherst in 2015 and majored in history. Ellie is now a senior manager for strategy planning at Misfits Market. She started volunteering for the College as a student, serving as an associate agent for the Class of 2015’s Senior Gift. Ellie is co-president of the Amherst Association of Philadelphia as well as their telecast coordinator.


How did you get started volunteering for Amherst?

My parents hosted the Philadelphia send-off picnic for about 12 years, and I was excited to continue the tradition of helping with Amherst events in the Philadelphia area when I returned from Massachusetts.

Why do you volunteer with Amherst College?

I enjoy seeing the excitement and happiness Amherst alumni share as they meet and connect at alumni events.

What is your favorite part of volunteering with Amherst?

Seeing Amherst alumni from different generations connect over shared experiences.

What would you say to someone considering a volunteer opportunity with Amherst?

Don't think twice! It can't hurt to at least try it once, and you may find you really enjoy it and want to continue the tradition of helping to build Amherst events.
