PETER MERRILL TILLEY

In a freak accident this past summer (June 19, 1957) Peter Tilley '57 was killed while working at a camp on Lake George. Tilley was electrocuted when he slipped on a boat dock ladder and gabbed a charged electric conduit.

At Amherst Tilley was an outstanding student. An economics major, he was graduated magna cum laude and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He also found time to earn his varsity letter as squash manager and to act as house manager of his fraternity, Theta Xi. He had planned to enter Princeton Graduate School this fall.

Tilley Memorial Fund Created:   The family and friends of Tilley announced recently their desire to create a Tilley Memorial Fund for scholarship purposes. The fund is to be administered the President and Trustees of the College. Dependent upon the extent of the contributions, it will either provide annual scholarship aid or be limited to one or two scholarships in the near future.
