On Sunday, August 23 President Biddy Martin welcomed first-year students and awarded honorary degrees to faculty members during a virtual version of the traditional Convocation ceremony.
Under the oaks and maples on the Quad, President Martin urged 471 new graduates to learn from the trees “what gives our lives their source and beauty—our interdependence and our belonging.”
