The Sustainability Affiliate Program

Integrating Sustainability Across the Curriculum

Faculty and staff support is a cornerstone of the Office of Sustainability’s strategy to promote sustainability related interdisciplinary teaching, scholarship, service, and programming. The Faculty - Staff Sustainability Affiliate program is designed to stimulate interdisciplinary conversation, faculty - staff development, and collaboration around campus and community sustainability through monthly gatherings. More information can be found in the Learn More section below.

Faculty-staff sustainability affiliate gatherings / field trips happen roughly once a month (first half hour socializing with an interactive, one hour program after). The 2023 - 2024 program is a joint program among the Mead Art Museum, Center for Community Engagement, and the Office of Sustainability and is focused on integrating experiential learning into the curriculum, co-curriculum, and campus programming. The College received a grant to help support the curricular component. Check out the experiential learning funding portal to learn more. Faculty can receive $2,500 to develop a new course or $500 to develop a new assignment / field trip / lab that incorporates experiential learning.
