Welcome to the Biochemistry & Biophysics Program at Amherst College.

This web page is for new students (first year and transfer students) who are curious to explore multiple scientific approaches as methods of inquiry to understand life. Your training will involve delving into multiple science and math courses as you build your foundations for BCBP work. The community of BCBP faculty, drawn from the three Departments of Chemistry, Biology, and Physics, and current BCBP majors are eager to welcome you. We are eager to tell you more about our courses, our research programs, seminars, and other events.

• Note that all introductory science courses are open to non-majors, and course capacity is not limited; although some introductory courses have a pre-requisite, everyone is welcome as long as the pre-requisite is met, regardless of major!
