On July 1, Jeffrey L. Bleich ’83, Phillip A. Jackson ’85 and Sarah Bloom Raskin ’83 began six-year terms as College trustees. 

Jeffrey Bleich

Jeffrey L. Bleich, recognized as one of the nation’s top lawyers, leads the diplomatic practice for Dentons. He was special counsel to President Obama in the White House and the 24th U.S. ambassador to Australia. He received the highest awards for a non-career ambassador from the U.S. State Department, the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Director of National Intelligence.

Earlier, Bleich was a partner at Munger, Tolles & Olson. He also served as director of the White House Commission on Youth Violence, appointed by President Clinton. He clerked for, among others, U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist.

Phillip Jackson
Phillip A. Jackson, the vicar of Trinity Church Wall Street in Manhattan, leads the mission and ministry programs that touch upon every aspect of parish life: service liturgies, a broad-based music program, faith formation programs, pastoral care services, Trinity’s preschool, membership development, fund development and church properties.

Previously, Jackson was the rector of Christ Church of the Ascension in Paradise Valley, Ariz., where he led reconciliation, congregational growth and community engagement. He has also served parishes in Houston and Detroit. Before being ordained as a priest, he practiced law as a litigator.

Sarah Raskin
Sarah Bloom Raskin is a former deputy secretary of the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Appointed by Obama, she was Treasury’s second-in-command, making history as the highest-ranking woman to serve. She was responsible for domestic and global policy and operations at Treasury and its bureaus. Among many other roles, she created the G7 Cybersecurity Working Group and chaired the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States.

Raskin was previously a governor of the Federal Reserve Board and Maryland’s commissioner of financial regulation. She also has extensive private-sector and senior-executive experience.
