Born in Seoul, Korea, Chonghyo Shin holds both a Bachelor of Music and a Masters of Music degree from the New England Conservatory of Music where she remained as a teacher of piano after graduation. She has performed as a soloist with Boston Pops Orchestra and New England Conservatory Orchestra. She has performed numerous solo and chamber music recitals throughout her career. Chonghyo Shin attended the master classes of Alfred Brendel and Jeanne-Marie Darre as a performer. She has been teaching piano for the last 60 years, teaching every level from beginner to very advanced. Many of her former students are well-known musicians as well as teachers. Teaching piano is her passion.
