Introduction

If someone cannot start a recording, manage participants, or is having their meeting cut short even though they have a Pro Licensed account within Zoom, they are most likely not signed into the Zoom client on their device.

When a meeting is created, the host has the option to select Enable join before host. This setting allows other participants into the meeting without the host being present. This can be helpful to get a meeting started if the host is running late, but can also lead to some confusion. Because the meeting allows participants to join without signing in, the person who is the host could technically join the meeting without logging in as well. This would result in Zoom not knowing that the host is actually present because they have not authenticated with the application.

Users should ensure they are logged into the Zoom client before starting a meeting. If they are currently in a meeting, they will need to leave the meeting, login, and then rejoin the meeting.
