Building Community with You!

What is the Epoxy CRG?

Many members of our campus community that joined Amherst just before or after the start of the pandemic missed out on the chance to explore the Happy Valley and make friends in other departments the way that many of our colleagues did when they first moved to the area.  To meet this need, we have created "Epoxy: Mammoths Old and New - Stronger When We Combine!", a new colleague resource group that seeks to bring veteran mammoths together with new members of the herd to become an even stronger campus community.

Throughout the year, we plan to have events that allow colleagues to make new friends, ask questions, and share information about both campus experiences and procedures and the Happy Valley.  Where would you go for the best tacos?  What is your favorite used book store?  What hikes are best for a weekend morning? What is the best time to go to Val to avoid a line?

What's in a Name?
Epoxy is a composite made of two separate compounds that, when combined, cure to form a hard solid.  We chose to name our new community building CRG "Epoxy" because we feel that our Amherst College community is stronger when we bring together individuals with different roles, experiences, and knowledge.
